This sweet girl came in today matted to the skin and had to be shaved. I saved her ears and popped some feather bows on her Poofy ears. I loved her!
Look, Schnauzers are one of THE MOST contravercial haircuts. I’ve seen Schnauzers in Westie, Cocker, and L shape patterns (picture the body like a cocker and a short dash shaved down the backs of the legs… shudder). I took a couple INCREDIBLE terrier seminars at Superzoo and here is the first Schnauzer I had a […]
I love this schnauzer’s eyebrows! She has cowlicks on both that cause them to grow out sideways, and no amount of product or blowdrying will make them face forward. So mom has me thinning shear them quite short and leave just enough to have a shape to them. She’s adorable!
These are two different schnauzers that came in on separate days. One pattern was done by a groomer who no longer works at J&R. One was done by another salon. I will cover common questions and misconceptions about matting, as well as correct popular home-grooming techniques that do more harm than good. Here’s the scene. You walk into a grooming salon for the first time with your small-breed dog […]
Can I just say that I hate terriers with teddybear heads? It’s just wrong. They have light eyebrows! Square faces! If you want a roundy-round face, get a shih tzu! But I digress. This particular pup was pretty cute at the end of the day, and as this was my first Official Groom at Jack&Rascals, […]
This was about two months ago. The owners asked for a schnauzer cut the first time and I talked them out of it. She has super curly hair and I knew the typical schnauzer style with a short back would look terrible. The second time they came they insisted on it and I wasn’t there […]
Here’s a messy guy who hadn’t been groomed in way too long. I was impressed by his transformation!
Before and after of a japanese-style schnauzer face. As far as I can tell, japanese style involves all round edges, with a distinct fan at top of nose. Here’s my first attempt!
